Boat Sinks Off Busan Gijang Coast
Coast Guard Rescues 7 Crew Members
At around 2:38 PM on the 15th, the Ulsan Coast Guard received a report that a 2.6-ton leisure boat was sinking in the waters near Idonghang, Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan.
The Ulsan Coast Guard dispatched patrol vessels and the Gijang Police Station coastal rescue boat, completing the rescue operation for all seven crew members by 3:07 PM.
The crew members were wearing life jackets and had jumped into the sea, waiting to be rescued.
There were no casualties reported. Based on the crew members' statements that water began to fill the stern of the leisure boat, the Ulsan Coast Guard is investigating the exact cause of the accident.
