Why Did Bank Employees Search for City Drains?
BNK Busan Bank (President Bang Seongbin) announced on the morning of the 15th that, in preparation for the summer monsoon and typhoon season, it carried out volunteer activities to clean drainage systems in areas of Busan that are prone to flooding, aiming to prevent flood damage.
About 400 members of the Busan Bank regional volunteer group visited 16 districts, including Youth Street in Deokcheon-dong, Buk-gu, Seomyeon Culture Street in Jin-gu, and Gijang Market in Gijang-gun. They opened drainage grates and collected debris such as trash and fallen leaves from inside the drains.
Kang Seokrae, Head of the Management Strategy Division at Busan Bank, said, "Heavy rainfall and typhoons caused by climate change are resulting in significant damage every year, making flood prevention activities more important than ever," and added, "We hope this year will pass without major damage to citizens."
According to the '2023 Social Contribution Activity Report' published by the Korea Federation of Banks, Busan Bank invested 14.5% of its net profit into social contribution projects, the highest among all banks nationwide.
