Regarding the collective strike movement in the medical community, Jinwoo Sunim, the Chief Executive of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, stated that it is "not ethically right in terms of life ethics."
On the 14th, Jinwoo Sunim said in a press release, "As conflicts and pains toward medical reform continue, the anxiety and suffering of the people are severe," adding, "There should be no more medical gaps."
He also urged the government to "show a proactive attitude toward the hardships and realistic rights and interests of the medical community."
The Korean Medical Association has announced a strike scheduled for the 18th. Professors at Seoul National University Hospital also plan to begin an indefinite strike starting on the 17th.
