Pukyong National University Dormitory Selected as Top 'Eco Clean Room'

'Eco Clean Room Contest' Held at Student Dormitory... Awards Given to 6 Teams

Pukyong National University (President Jang Youngsoo) held the 'Student Dormitory Eco Clean Room Contest' to promote carbon-neutral environmental practices.

The Pukyong National University student dormitory held an award ceremony for this contest in the conference room on the 2nd floor of the university headquarters, presenting prizes to six teams selected as outstanding rooms from Sejong Dormitory 1 and Sejong Dormitory 2.

Pukyong National University is holding the Eco Cleanroom Contest award ceremony at the student dormitory and taking a commemorative photo.

The student dormitory at Pukyong National University designated a period for eco-friendly practices for dormitory residents, and after a recent on-site inspection, selected two teams each for the grand prize, excellence award, and encouragement award.

Through the on-site inspection, the dormitory evaluated the cleanliness of living spaces and restrooms, the state of tidiness, as well as items such as energy saving and reduction of single-use products during the eco-friendly practice period.

The contest winners received high marks in inspection items such as turning off lights when leaving, maintaining appropriate indoor temperature in summer, unplugging unused devices, collecting laundry before washing, using stairs, limiting food delivery orders, separating recyclables, and minimizing food waste.

Kim Taegyu, Director of the Student Dormitory, said, "To mark the 100th anniversary of Pukyong National University, we organized this contest to pass on a sustainable environment to future generations," and encouraged, "We hope that dormitory residents will take this opportunity to create a carbon-neutral environment, practice eco-friendly living, and build a pleasant living environment on their own."
