The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, and Changwon Fire Headquarters immediately launched a joint response. Although the specific target institution was not identified, they decided to first inspect the Gyeongnam Provincial Government, the largest public institution in the province.

The police special forces bomb disposal team, detection dogs, the Gyeongnam Fire 119 Special Response Team, and the fire department rescue team were deployed to thoroughly search both the interior and exterior of the government building.

They searched the building for about an hour starting around 1 p.m., but as of now, no suspicious explosive devices have been found.

Police and fire authorities stated, "The search was conducted as a precaution in case of an emergency," and added, "The bomb disposal team and special response unit will remain on standby at the scene until the situation is resolved."
