Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) has signed an agreement with Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency for the implementation of the "2024 Busan Waterloo-type Co-op Operating Institution Project" aimed at fostering outstanding field-oriented talent in the cultural tourism strategic industry sector.
This agreement involves Dongseo University and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency. Dongseo University, equipped with Asia’s top educational environment and expert faculty, will collaborate with leading cultural tourism companies in Busan to operate the "Industry Field based Co-op program." The program will nurture local talent with practical skills by providing selected third- and fourth-year students with opportunities ranging from competency enhancement to standard field training and employment.
Dongseo University will link major courses and extracurricular activities to support job-related special lectures, company visits, major certification acquisition, standard field training in the second semester of the third and fourth years, and job interviews. Participating companies will provide practical training on site, while the Busan Economic Promotion Agency will support industry-academia matching.
Professor Yoon Changwon (Department of Computer Engineering), who leads the dedicated Co-op program team, stated, "Through this agreement, Dongseo University and participating institutions and companies will organically cooperate to nurture outstanding talent in the cultural tourism sector, helping to resolve the mismatch of human resources in the local industry. In addition, we plan to explore and expand various mutual cooperation measures so that the region and university can grow together, such as jointly pursuing new projects for global expansion with partner companies."
