Dobong Dulle-gil 2.0 Project to Be Completed Next Year
Oh Eun-seok, Mayor of Dobong District, is explaining Dobong Dullegil 2.0. Provided by Dobong District.
Dobong-gu, Seoul announced on the 14th that it will complete a 21.3km circular walking trail by next year, passing through Dobongsan Seoul Dulle-gil Course 21, Jungnangcheon, Choansan, Ssangmun Neighborhood Park, and Changdong Seoul Arena, reconnecting the Seoul Dulle-gil.
On the 13th, Oh Eon-seok, the mayor of Dobong-gu, announced the progress of the ‘Dobong Dulle-gil 2.0’ project at the ‘Musugol Green Welfare Center’ in Dobong-dong. ‘Dobong Dulle-gil 2.0’ is a campaign pledge of Mayor Oh’s 8th term, aiming to preserve the natural environment and ecology while creating experiential facilities at key points and installing closed-circuit television (CCTV) throughout the entire route to establish a vibrant and safe circular walking trail.
Dobong-gu started this project in 2022 to break away from the existing Dulle-gil limited to Dobongsan and reorganize it into a new-sensory trail connecting large parks and Jungnangcheon in conjunction with Seoul Dulle-gil 2.0.
In April, the first phase of the ‘Jungnangcheon Embankment Deck Road’ was completed. Through over two years of construction, the district created a barefoot-friendly loam path along approximately 1.7km from Nowon Bridge to Changdo Elementary School, including a 600m section from Dobong Seowon Apartment Building 104 to 116, which was made into a yellow soil path, completing a ‘walkable path.’ The yellow soil path section has recently attracted great interest from residents due to the barefoot walking trend.
The district is currently advancing the second phase of the Jungnangcheon Deck Road construction and the creation of a waterside terrace caf?. In the future, barrier-free forest trails will be established in Choansan and Ssangmun Park. For hiking safety, CCTV will be installed throughout the entire Dulle-gil area.
Experiential spaces are also being expanded. Last month, the ‘Musugol Green Welfare Center’ and ‘Forest of Meditation,’ forest healing spaces, were completed in the Musugol area at the foot of Dobongsan. This facility has a total floor area of 827㎡, consisting of two buildings on one floor, operating health measurement rooms, cypress experience rooms, aroma healing rooms, and tea meditation rooms. It is scheduled to officially open in July this year.
Along with the Green Welfare Center, the ‘Hangeul History and Culture Square’ created around the tomb of King Yeonsangun, the ongoing ‘Seoul Changpowon Reconstruction Project,’ and the ‘Jungnangcheon Park Golf Course Construction Project’ are expected to expand Dobong Dulle-gil’s experiential facilities once completed.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, “When Dobong Dulle-gil 2.0 is finally completed next year, it will connect the Dobongsan Dulle-gil to the Seoul Arena, a K-pop specialized performance hall to be built in Changdong, allowing not only Dobong residents but also Seoul citizens to enjoy a healthy and safe forest cultural facility at the highest level.”
