The MOU signing ceremony held on the 13th at Gangseo-gu Office was attended by key officials including Lee Buyong, Head of Housing Business Division at Lotte Construction, Sung Mujin, CEO of Magok MICE PFV, Jin Gyohoon, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, and Lee Donggi, CEO of COEX.
They plan to mutually cooperate to attract domestic and international events, activate the MICE industry, build networks through information exchange, and develop linked programs for the tourism development of Gangseo-gu, thereby establishing a foundation for mutual growth.
Magok MICE PFV is currently developing ‘Le West (LE WEST)’, Seoul’s largest MICE complex in the Magok district of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, which combines a convention center, hotel, senior welfare housing, office facilities, and retail facilities.
‘Le West (LE WEST)’ is a compound word combining Limited Edition, which means rarity and value maximization, -EST meaning the highest grade, and WEST, symbolizing the only city representing the western part of South Korea.
The Magok district is an advanced R&D convergence industrial complex housing over 160 companies and about 90 domestic large corporations’ R&D facilities, including LG Science Park, Lotte, and Kolon.
A Lotte Construction official said, "We hope this agreement will be the cornerstone for revitalizing the tourism MICE industry in the western Seoul area and that Magok MICE will grow into a global MICE business hub with international competitiveness." He added, "We will take the lead in contributing to regional development through continuous win-win cooperation with Gangseo-gu."
