Dobong-gu Provides Vouchers for Professional Psychological Counseling

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that it will actively promote the "National Mental Health Investment Support Project" starting in July.

This project provides vouchers for professional psychological counseling services to residents experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety.

The eligible recipients include ▲those recognized as needing psychological counseling at centers operated by national and public institutions or psychiatric medical institutions ▲those who have been identified with moderate or higher levels of depression in mental health screenings during national health checkups ▲youth preparing for independence and extended protection children.

Selected recipients will receive vouchers for a total of 8 sessions (at least 50 minutes per session) of one-on-one face-to-face psychological counseling services. When using the service, only the co-payment based on the median income standard must be paid. Voucher applications can be made at the resident center of the registered address starting July 1.

As of June, psychological counseling service providers are being recruited and registered. Applications can be submitted in person by the head of the provider institution that meets the qualification criteria such as facilities and personnel to the health center with jurisdiction over the business location. Detailed information including required documents can be found on the Dobong-gu website.

Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, "We expect this professional psychological counseling service to greatly help the mental health of our residents. Residents experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety are strongly encouraged to apply and receive professional psychological counseling."
