Support for Heating and Cooling Costs for Energy-Vulnerable Groups... Up to 701,300 KRW Available
Apply by December 31 at Local Community Centers or the Bokjiro Website
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is promoting the Energy Voucher project to provide heating and cooling cost support to energy-vulnerable groups.
The "Energy Voucher" is a system that provides energy usage rights to households that are easily excluded from energy use, allowing them to purchase electricity, city gas, kerosene, LPG, briquettes, and more.
The support targets recipients of livelihood, medical, housing, and education benefits under the "National Basic Livelihood Security Act," who themselves or whose household members fall under any of the following categories: elderly, infants and young children, disabled persons, pregnant women, patients with severe, rare, or intractable diseases, single-parent families, or children from juvenile-headed households.
In particular, from this year, the district will significantly increase the amount of Energy Voucher support.
Support amounts by household size are ▲ 295,200 KRW for single-person households ▲ 407,500 KRW for two-person households ▲ 532,700 KRW for three-person households ▲ and 701,300 KRW for households of four or more members.
This is an increase of 145,400 KRW for single-person households and 321,700 KRW for households of four or more compared to last year.
The summer voucher will be provided through electricity bill deductions from July 1 to September 30. Additionally, through the "winter voucher advance use," up to 45,000 KRW of the winter amount can be used in advance.
Along with this, from this year, the district has extended the winter voucher usage period by 34 days compared to last year to help recipients use the vouchers more smoothly.
Thus, the winter voucher usage period will be from October 1 to May 25 of the following year. Eligible recipients can choose to receive the voucher via issuance of the "National Happiness Card" or through deduction from their utility bills.
Energy Vouchers can be applied for year-round until December 31 of this year. Residents wishing to apply can visit the community service center in their registered residential area or apply online through the Bokjiro website.
Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, "We have increased the voucher support amount and extended the usage period to reduce the heating and cooling cost burden on energy-vulnerable groups. We will do our best to ensure that all eligible households apply for and receive the benefits of the Energy Voucher."
