Kim Seong, Jangheung County Governor, "I will raise the region's voice to Jeonnam Province and the central government"

Unanimous Election of the Council President at the 12th Regular Meeting of the Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Association

Kim Seong, the Jangheung County Governor, was elected as the chairman of the Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Association for the second half of the 8th term of the civilian government.


The Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Association held its 12th regular meeting on the 13th at the Seungdal Culture and Arts Center in Muan County and selected Kim Seong, the Jangheung County Governor, as the chairman of the association.


The Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Association is an organization established to exchange opinions and seek cooperation measures on common regional issues and to promote local autonomy. It is composed of the heads of 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam.

Governor Kim Seong will represent the 22 mayors and county governors of Jeonnam Province as a co-chairman of the Korea Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads Association, voicing the concerns of the region.


Meanwhile, during the meeting, the 22 cities and counties deliberated and approved 10 agenda items related to regional projects and proposals to Jeonnam Province and central government ministries.


In particular, they presented agenda items such as support for housing costs for victims of jeonse fraud, construction of a connecting bridge between Sumun and Nokdong as a presidential pledge, and measures to prevent the collapse of rice prices and stabilize prices, agreeing to respond jointly.


Governor Kim said, “I will do my best to gather the wisdom of Jeonnam mayors and county governors to solve regional issues and promote mutual growth and cooperation among local governments. I will also fulfill my role in conveying the voices of the 22 cities and counties of Jeollanam-do to the provincial and central governments.”
