Meeting Held with Restaurant Owners of Beolgyo Taebaeksanmaek Cockle Street
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 11th, it held a meeting with the owners of nine cockle specialty restaurants in Beolgyo Taebaek Mountain Range Cockle Street as part of the ‘Namdo Food Street Premium Project’.
The ‘Namdo Food Street Premium Project’ is a project designated by Jeollanam-do that links Namdo Food Streets and tourist resources in cities and counties to promote local specialty foods and attract food tourists.

At the meeting, opinions were gathered from business owners on ways to revitalize the ‘Beolgyo Taebaek Mountain Range Cockle Street Premium Project,’ along with hygiene education to prevent food poisoning and hospitality training to attract tourists.
In addition, to successfully promote the ‘Beolgyo Taebaek Mountain Range Cockle Street Premium Project,’ the following initiatives will be pursued: ▲business meetings for Cockle Street merchants ▲hospitality and hygiene education ▲maintenance of Cockle Street ▲support for hygiene supplies ▲promotion of Cockle Street and operation of Visit Month ▲customized dining management consulting ▲development of Cockle Street tourist courses.
A county official stated, “We will do our best to enable tourists visiting Beolgyo Taebaek Mountain Range Cockle Street to fully enjoy the taste and culture of Beolgyo by implementing various detailed projects such as dining management consulting, education, and promotion tailored to the characteristics of Boseong.”
Meanwhile, ‘Beolgyo Taebaek Mountain Range Cockle Street,’ a Namdo Food Street in Boseong-gun, is a distinctive food street reflecting Boseong-gun’s specialty product, cockles, and literary content. It was designated as a Namdo Food Street in 2017, and food and cultural projects have been underway since then.
