Mokpo City announced on the 13th that it held a 2024 first half-year Citizens' Auditor Meeting at the city hall situation room on the 12th.
On this day, Mayor Park Hong-ryul, public officials, and citizens' auditors attended to share and discuss various opinions on the development of city administration.
At the meeting, Mayor Park emphasized the importance of the Anti-Graft Act and the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, stressing that citizens' auditors play a crucial role in eradicating corruption among public officials and creating a trustworthy environment for city administration.
Citizens' auditors actively engage in discovering inconveniences and unreasonable systems faced by citizens and propose improvements for the development of city administration. They also participate in on-site inspections of construction projects to contribute to the spread of a culture of integrity.
A city official stated, "The activities of citizens' auditors play a significant role in enhancing the transparency of city administration," adding, "We will continue to further activate the Integrity Citizens' Auditors so that Mokpo City becomes a more honest and transparent city."
Through this meeting, it is expected that citizens will show increased interest and participation in city administration, and citizens are sending their hopes and support for Mokpo City's development through the exemplary citizens' auditor system.
