[Click eStock] "Deepnoid, Full-Scale Earnings Growth Expected in Medical AI"

Hana Securities expected that Deepnoid's performance in the medical artificial intelligence (AI) sector will grow significantly starting next year.

Researcher Jo Jeong-hyun of Hana Securities explained, "In April, Deepnoid received a non-reimbursable fee for its brain aneurysm detection diagnostic AI solution ‘DEEP:NEURO’." He added, "When assisting brain aneurysm detection during brain MRA examinations with DEEP:NEURO, Deepnoid can charge hospitals on a per-case basis."

He continued, "This is a meaningful achievement since it was designated as an innovative medical technology last November," adding, "Currently, about 20 hospitals in Korea have adopted it, and the goal is to secure 80 hospitals by the end of this year."

Furthermore, he analyzed, "Discussions are underway to supply medical AI solutions to major domestic health screening centers in the second half of this year," and "Due to the shortage of radiology specialists in the approximately 6 trillion KRW domestic screening market, the importance of outsourcing the screening market is increasing." He emphasized, "Overseas market expansion, including Southeast Asia, is also expected this year," and "Rapid market entry is possible without FDA and CE certification."

Researcher Jo also stated, "Deepnoid's industrial AI solutions are also progressing smoothly," explaining, "Sales from Deep Factory for secondary battery clients, worth 7.5 billion KRW ordered in the fourth quarter of last year, will be recognized starting from the second quarter of this year." He added, "Considering the quarterly break-even point (BEP) sales of 4 billion KRW, a return to profitability is expected in the third quarter," and "The importance of battery safety and production automation in the secondary battery process is increasing, leading to growing demand for machine vision."

He noted, "According to the first-quarter conference call of Cognex, a major machine vision client, demand for machine vision in the secondary battery and electric vehicle industries continues to rise," and "Performance is also recovering due to semiconductor market recovery following AI investments."
