Up to 5 Books per Month Delivered by Mail to Pregnant Women with One-Time Initial Visit Verification
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will provide a book delivery loan service by courier for pregnant women who have difficulty visiting libraries at eight public libraries.
The ‘Pregnant Women Courier Service’ is available at a total of eight locations: Eunpyeong-gu Public Library, Jeungsan Information Library, Eungam Information Library, Sangnim Library, Eunpyeong New Town Library, Gusan-dong Library Village, Naereul Geonneoseo Sup-euro Library, and Eunteurak Library.
Eligible users are pregnant women residing in the district who are regular members of Eunpyeong-gu public libraries. Regardless of the number of months before childbirth, users can access the service by verifying their status with a pregnancy confirmation certificate or maternity handbook during their first visit to a public library.
Users can search for books in the ‘Pregnant Women Courier Service’ search bar on the Eunpyeong-gu Public Library website, check the availability of the desired book, and then apply. After applying, it is essential to call the library to confirm the application details.
The maximum number of books that can be borrowed is five, and the courier service can be requested once a month. Returns can be made at any public library with interlibrary loan service, subway station return machines, or external return boxes.
For more details, please refer to the Eunpyeong-gu Public Library website or contact the respective libraries by phone.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “Through the book courier service for pregnant women, we aim to improve their access to libraries,” adding, “Our district will continue to strive to support various cultural activities during pregnancy for expectant mothers.”
