Gathering for At-Risk Youth Support Projects... 'Geumcheon Youth Fence' Held

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that on the 14th at 2 PM, it will hold the ‘Geumcheon Youth Fence (a neighborhood youth barrier that protects me and guards you)’ campaign at the Siheung 2-dong Community Center plaza.

This event was organized to identify out-of-school youth and at-risk youth in the area and to provide various youth services.

The operation of ‘Geumcheon Youth Fence’ is led by the ‘Geumcheon-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center Dream Dream’ and the ‘Geumcheon-gu Out-of-School Youth Related Agencies Network’ formed around it.

The ‘Geumcheon-gu Out-of-School Youth Related Agencies Network’ includes a total of nine organizations: Geumcheon-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center, Geumcheon-gu Office, Geumcheon Police Station, Geumcheon-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, Seoul Metropolitan Temporary Youth Shelter, Seoul Metropolitan Geumcheon Girls’ Short-Term Youth Shelter, Geumcheon Education Welfare Center, Cheongchun Building, and Seoul Smoking Cessation Support Center.

During the campaign, a social safety net for local youth will be introduced, and various experience booths for youth will be operated by each institution. Programs such as improving awareness of out-of-school youth, preventing school violence, trying on police uniforms, fingerprint registration for missing person prevention, making directional props, mini-games, Dalgona candy picking, and lung capacity tests can be experienced.

Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We will raise residents’ awareness of at-risk youth and strengthen cooperation with related organizations so that youth can actively utilize institutions where they can receive help.”

The ‘Geumcheon-gu Out-of-School Youth Related Agencies Network’ helps ensure a safe daily life and social integration for youth through identification, systematic intervention, and integrated case management of out-of-school and at-risk youth in the area.

The ‘Geumcheon-gu Out-of-School Youth Related Agencies Network’ previously conducted joint campaigns such as ‘Geumcheon Check-in’ in 2022 and ‘Ask Anything’ in 2023.
