31 Promotions, 216 Transfers, 115 Leaves and Returns, 6 New Hires
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo) announced on the 12th the personnel appointments for local government officials effective July 1, 2024. The appointments include a total of 495 individuals: 31 promotions, 216 transfers, 115 leaves and reinstatements, and 6 new hires.
An official from the Office of Education stated that this round of appointments, which includes many promotions to grade 4 and above, selected the most suitable candidates to implement major policy projects under the slogan "Turning Dreams into Reality! Hopeful Busan Education." The placements were made based on past achievements and job competency to ensure the right people are in the right positions.
For grade 3 appointments, Noh Jangseok, Director of Haeundae Library, was transferred to Director of the Planning Bureau. Lee Eunkyung, Director of the General Affairs Division, was promoted to Director of the Citizens Library; Shin Yongchae, Director of the Finance Division, was promoted to Director of the Central Library; and Kwon Sookhyang, Director of the Budget Planning Division, was promoted to Director of the Haeundae Library.
For grade 4 appointments, Kim Janghoon, Director of the School Safety Management Division, was transferred to Director of the General Affairs Division, and Oh Jinhee, Head of Administration at the Creative Convergence Education Institute, was transferred to Director of the Finance Division. Choi Jinwook, in charge of personnel, was promoted to Director of the Budget Planning Division; Park Nayoung, in charge of planning, was promoted to Director of the Regional Education Gap Reduction Office; Jeon Mijeong, in charge of public official personnel, was promoted to Director of the Labor Administration Information Division; and Yeom Jooyoung, in charge of public relations, was promoted to Director of the School Safety Management Division.
Transfers within the main office followed the "Main Office Employee Transfer Appointment Standards," while those working at schools or institutions followed the "Local Government Official Transfer Scoring System Implementation Plan."
Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "The Office of Education will resolve 'opaque personnel appointments' through objective and fair standards and will continue to implement transparent, competency- and performance-based appointments."
