Professor Im Chunwoo of the Department of Chemistry Participates in Research Project
Hannam University has been selected as a participating institution in the national project "Display Innovation Process Platform Construction Project."
According to Hannam University on the 12th, Professor Lim Chun-woo of the Department of Chemistry at Hannam University will participate in the national project with a total budget of 4 billion KRW. Hannam University was selected as a participating institution along with the lead organization Asta, Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI), and Kyung Hee University.
The title of this national project is "Development of an Imaging Mass Spectrometry System for OLED Materials and Display Nano-Degradation Cause Analysis with Nanometer-Scale Depth Direction Resolution," and Professor Lim will participate in the project in the research field related to "deuterium-substituted OLED materials" among OLED display-related studies.
Professor Lim is a former member of the Samsung Display OLED development team, one of the leading companies in the next-generation display field in Korea, and has been researching and developing organic materials used in next-generation displays such as smartphones and OLED TVs.
OLED displays operate on the principle of combining the three primary colors of light, RGB, and applying electricity to the display to produce light. Professor Lim's research area is the development of efficient organic materials used in self-emissive displays, and he is participating in this project through research on next-generation organic materials using deuterium substitution technology.
Through this national project, detailed developments will include ▲ development of 3D high-resolution imaging LDI TOF-MS ▲ development of OLED material degradation analysis methods ▲ development of a prototype LDI TOF-MS for depth direction analysis.
Meanwhile, Asta, the lead organization of this project, is one of the Korean small and medium-sized enterprises participating in the Saudi-Korea Industrial Valley (SKIV), a core part of "Vision 2030" (initial investment of about 7.8 trillion KRW) promoted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
