Dongsung Hwa Intec Advances Refrigerant Recycling Business... Annual Recovery of 720 Tons

Equipment Installation at Ulsan Yeongnam Plant

Dosung Chemical's LNG insulation material specialized subsidiary, Dosung Finetek, announced on the 12th that it will promote a refrigerant recycling business.

For this business, Dosung Finetek has built facilities at the Ulsan Yeongnam plant since April last year, capable of recovering and refining 720 tons of refrigerant annually over about one year. Recently, all permits and approvals have been completed.

Dosung Finetek plans to produce and sell regenerated refrigerant products (R22, R134a, R410a) by recovering refrigerants from end-of-life vehicles, waste home appliances, and discarded air conditioners, removing impurities, and making them reusable.

Through this business, Dosung Finetek aims to expand its existing refrigerant business, which has focused on supplying eco-friendly alternative refrigerant products, into the recycling sector to provide a sustainable total refrigerant solution.

Refrigerants require proper management as their release into the atmosphere causes global warming. With global efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, legal regulations on waste refrigerant disposal are being strengthened, and the waste refrigerant recovery and refining market is expected to grow rapidly.

A Dosung Finetek official stated, "Starting with the refrigerant recycling business, we will diversify resource circulation businesses that can reduce greenhouse gases," adding, "Through this, we will proactively respond to climate change and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality."
