The special exhibition shares the historical significance of the Korean War and highlights the impact and changes brought to the Pyeongtaek community by the stationing of the United States Forces Korea. It showcases the changes in Sinjang-dong, Pyeongtaek, revealed through the urban history archive project conducted in the second half of last year, using artifacts and graphics.

During the Korean War, Pyeongtaek was a strategic point to gain an early advantage in the war and served as the northernmost defense line after the occupation of Seoul. The exhibition is organized into two themes: "The Outbreak of the Korean War" and "Pyeongtaek After the War." Park Jeong-in, the curator who planned the exhibition, explained, "Part 1 examines the start of the Korean War and the early battles around Pyeongtaek and Anseong, while Part 2 aims to share with visitors the lives of residents after the war."

The special exhibition will continue until the 30th and is open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Pyeongtaek Museum, the city’s first public comprehensive history museum, is currently under architectural design and will be located in Hambaksan Park within Godeok International New City.
