The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Kyungbok University, a commissioned operating institution, recently received commendations from the Mayor of Seoul and the Governor of Gyeonggi Province.
The institution operated under consignment by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Kyungbok University is achieving significant results.
Kyungbok University announced on the 12th that the 'Gangdong Foreign Workers Center' and the 'Namyangju Family Center,' both operated under consignment by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, received commendations from the Mayor of Seoul and the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, respectively.
The Gangdong Foreign Workers Center has been operated by the Kyungbok University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation since January 2020, under consignment from the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The center was selected as an excellent case by Seoul City for its 2023 foreign resident comprehensive health checkups (Seegene Medical Foundation) and free medical services conducted to support the settlement of foreign residents.
The Namyangju Family Center has been operated under consignment from Namyangju City since January 2019. To support multicultural families, it runs systematic programs that enable stable community settlement and empowerment, including social integration programs (Korean language education), interpretation and translation services, home education, employment training, and qualification exams for marriage immigrants.
Ham Do-hoon, Director of the Kyungbok University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, stated, "Kyungbok University operates 11 institutions, including the Seoul Eastern Technical Education Center, under consignment from local governments. This commendation as an excellent institution is the result of our support and efforts for foreign and multicultural residents, and we will continue to provide generous support to help foreign and multicultural residents settle in the community."
