Daejeon City announced that it will make an all-out effort to protect the lives and health of citizens in response to the medical community's decision to hold a collective strike on the 18th.
On the 10th, in accordance with government policy and based on Article 59, Paragraph 1 of the Medical Service Act, the city issued a medical order requiring clinic-level medical institutions to provide medical services without closing on the strike day, the 18th, and instructed medical institutions planning to close on that day to report their closure by the 13th.
In addition, the city requested extended medical service cooperation from local medical institutions, and the five district public health centers are fully prepared to minimize medical service gaps by providing extended medical services until 8 p.m. on the day of the collective strike.
Information on medical institutions that will be open will be provided through the Emergency Medical Portal mobile application and the KakaoTalk Daejeon Fire Department channel, and citizens will be able to check whether medical institutions are operating through TV public service advertisements (subtitles), the city’s website, and social media before visiting.
Son Cheol-ung, Director of the Citizen Sports and Health Bureau of Daejeon City, said, “We will minimize citizen inconvenience caused by the strike through active promotion and communication with the local medical community,” and added, “Citizens are advised to check the availability of medical services before visiting, as some medical institutions are expected to be closed on the 18th.”
