"Instead of a passive attitude that only complies with regulations, it would be great to show an active attitude that achieves the organization's goals through transparent and fair work processes."
On the morning of the 12th, around the time of arriving at work, the voice of Jin Gyo-hoon, the Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, echoed throughout the district office. Mayor Jin personally took the microphone and served as the DJ for the 'Integrity Relay Morning Broadcast.'
Gangseo-gu decided to enhance awareness of integrity and spread a culture of integrity by having senior officials participate directly in the morning broadcast every Wednesday to deliver messages about integrity.
The first speaker, Mayor Jin, urged employees to eradicate the abusive culture that lowers work motivation and to create a workplace atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. He also conveyed a message to lead by example with senior officials and strive to create a fair and transparent public service culture.
Next week, the Deputy Mayor will continue the integrity broadcast, followed by officials at grade 4 and above. They plan to share their experiences related to integrity and stories they want to pass on to their juniors.
A Gangseo-gu official stated, "We are working to establish 'Gangseo, a first-class city of integrity' by forming 'Integrity Leaders' among employees and establishing the '2024 Comprehensive Integrity Improvement Plan' based on the principle of fairness."
