Saltlux-Paidigital Healthcare Join Forces to Develop LLM for Medical Field

Artificial intelligence (AI) company Saltlux announced on the 12th that it has signed a strategic business partnership (MOU) with Pi Digital Healthcare to develop a large language model (LLM) for medical purposes.

The signing ceremony held at Saltlux headquarters was attended by key representatives from both companies, including Saltlux Vice President Minjong Kim and Pi Digital Healthcare CEO Seungchan Yoo. They agreed to closely cooperate to improve public health and advance both companies.

Through this agreement, the two companies will actively promote the development of medical-purpose LLMs and innovative services. Saltlux’s LLM “LUXIA,” which has been trained on data equivalent to about 4.2 million books and has reduced hallucination phenomena, will be combined with Pi Digital Healthcare’s large-scale medical data and platform business expertise.

Saltlux, the largest single AI company in Korea focused on AI business, is rapidly expanding its influence in the LLM market by conducting adoption and proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with leading companies and institutions based on LUXIA. Recently, they unveiled at a conference “LUXIA2,” which has significantly improved generation speed and expert knowledge response performance, the hardware-integrated generative AI appliance “LUXIA ON,” and the AI agent service “Goover.” They expressed their ambition to achieve a market capitalization of 1 trillion won by 2026.

Pi Digital Healthcare is a healthcare platform specialist jointly established by Yonsei University Medical Center and Kakao. It provides healthcare platforms and data mining services. Recently, it developed the digital therapeutic device platform “Connect-DTx,” which integrates medical institutions, patients, and technology companies. This platform not only offers real-time personalized prescriptions to patients but also lays the foundation for developing digital therapeutic devices that enable convenient communication between the government and medical institutions.

Saltlux Vice President Minjong Kim said, “The combination of the medical field and LLM is expected to greatly contribute to improving the quality of life and health of the public by innovating the level and accessibility of medical services.”
