President Yoon Arrives in Kazakhstan... Undertakes 3-Day State Visit Schedule

Meeting with Koryoin Compatriots and Overseas Koreans Invited

President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife, currently on a tour of three Central Asian countries, arrived in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, the second country on their itinerary, on the 11th (local time).

On the first day of the visit, the 11th, President Yoon held a meeting with ethnic Koreans and overseas nationals, and attended a dinner with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan.

On the 12th, a summit meeting with President Tokayev will be held at the presidential palace, where they will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen the strategic partnership, followed by a joint press conference.

Kazakhstan is an oil-producing country and a resource-rich nation with a high global market share in key minerals such as uranium and chromium. Cooperation on the supply chain of key minerals is expected to be the top priority in this summit meeting.

President Yoon will stay in Kazakhstan until the 13th to complete the state visit schedule.
