Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation announced on the 11th that it will hold a pine tree painting exhibition titled "Journey of Pine Trees" at the Currency Museum's special exhibition hall from the 11th to the 23rd.

The Mint explained that these works embody the inner self and consideration of humans living together harmoniously like pine trees.
Artist Lim is known to the public as a pine tree painter. He holds the title of being the first artist in Korea to paint pine trees in oil.
Initially focusing on regional-themed works, Lim devoted himself to creating art symbolizing the Korean spirit and upright integrity through pine trees since the late 1970s.
The Mint planned this exhibition with the purpose of offering citizens a unique cultural experience by showcasing Lim's works expressed through new techniques.
Sung Chang-hoon, president of the Mint, said, "The exhibition will be an opportunity to glimpse the passion of artist Lim, who has long depicted the spirit of our nation through pine trees. The Mint will continue to strive for regional cultural development through various exhibition plans."
Meanwhile, Lim held his first solo exhibition at Gongju Cultural Center in 1969. Since then, he has continued exhibiting in Nonsan, Gyeryong, Daejeon, Goseong, Seoul, and other locations. He has also contributed to regional cultural development by serving as honorary chairman of the Grilhoe, advisor to the Daejeon Sketching Association, advisory member of the Korean Fine Arts Association Daejeon branch, and invited artist for the Chungnam-Daejeon Fine Arts Exhibition.
The Mint offers the special exhibition hall free of charge and holds about 20 exhibitions annually. This year, it has hosted Western painting exhibitions, club photography exhibitions, Korea-Japan glass art exhibitions by artists, and special exhibitions of artistic commemorative coins.
