Noru Paint announced on the 11th that it sponsored paint for the mural painting activity to improve the landscape of the underground passage in Yangbeolli, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, in which a student from Dong Seoul University (Department of Industrial Design) participated as an artist.
This activity was conducted as part of a major-related volunteer project aimed at fostering university-community cooperation and creating public value. The mural location and design were finalized after prior consultation with the Gwangju City Crime Prevention Committee and holding briefing sessions for students, including the student representative group.

The design of the mural on the ascending side of the Yangbeolli underground passage was completed with a cheerful and dynamic image of tomatoes, one of Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do’s specialty products. On the descending side, the tomatoes were transformed into the image of hard candy, personifying various situations.
The two organizations have collaborated on landscape improvement mural projects since starting CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) activities hosted by the Seongnam Compliance Center of the Ministry of Justice in 2017.
Since 2016, Noru Paint has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Justice’s Compliance Support Center and has provided eco-friendly paint nationwide as part of the CPTED project. Recognized for its paint donation activities contributing to safety, it received commendations from the Ministry of Justice in 2016 and 2020.
A Noru Paint official stated, “Noru Paint has been participating in the mural painting volunteer activities at Dong Seoul University for eight consecutive years up to this year,” and added, “We will continue to carry out various support activities for the local community and design major university students.”
