HJ Heavy Industries Construction Division Surpasses 1 Trillion Won in Orders in 5 Months

Expansion to 1.5 Trillion KRW Upon Saemangeum Airport Contract Confirmation

HJ Heavy Industries' construction division announced on the 11th that it has surpassed a cumulative order amount of 1 trillion KRW within five months by securing a portion of the Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX)-B line.

The GTX-B section the company will be constructing is the 3-2 section from Sangbong-dong, Jungnang-gu to Sinnai-dong. The project involves building Sangbong Station and the concourse, as well as constructing the transfer passage to Line 7 and the main tunnel. The construction period is 68 months, and the contract amount is 331.9 billion KRW. HJ Heavy Industries holds a 70% stake.

HJ Heavy Industries also participated in the 4th section of the GTX-A line connecting Samseong to Dongtan, with the opening ceremony held last March. The company is currently working on the 1st section of the Chuncheon-Sokcho railway construction, the 1st section of the Gwanggyo-Homaesil project, and the 8th section of the double-track electrified railway from Indeokwon to Dongtan.

In addition, the company secured numerous public construction projects this year, including the dismantling of Ulsan Thermal Power Units 4, 5, and 6, the Namyangju Yangjeong Station area urban development project, the 3rd section of the Suseo-Gwangju double-track electrified railway construction, and the 2nd section of the 2nd phase of the Busan Myeongji district development project.

Through these projects, the order amount exceeded 1 trillion KRW as of the end of May this year, more than doubling compared to the same period last year. If the company wins the Saemangeum Airport construction project, which was announced as the top-ranked design evaluation and is likely to be awarded this month, the order amount in the first half of the year is expected to approach 1.5 trillion KRW.
