As the May regular season of the 'Kiwoom Hero Battle,' which attracted over 300,000 investors, came to a close, top rankers focused on 'AI-related stocks.'
According to Kiwoom Securities, the average return rate of customers participating in the Kiwoom Hero Battle was -3.73%, a slight increase compared to last month (-4.5%). However, the average return rate of the top rankers (eligible participants for the Hero Finals) recorded 50.58%, lower than last month's 51.16%. This is interpreted as there being relatively fewer stocks worth targeting compared to April.
The hottest topic in the domestic stock market in May was undoubtedly AI. Along with Nvidia's sharp rise of 26.89%, domestic related stocks also experienced a favorable trend. Top rankers in the Kiwoom Hero Battle also earned profits by investing in Polaris Office, selected as a member company of Nvidia’s ‘Inception’ program, and Isaac Engineering, which has a partnership with Dell, a partner of Nvidia.
Top rankers also paid attention to sectors such as electricity and semiconductors, where demand is expected to increase with the growth of the AI industry. Various stocks such as Daehan Electric Wire, LS Eco Energy (electric wire), SK Eteonics (ESS, energy storage system), YC, Isu Petasys (semiconductors), and Woojin Entech (nuclear power) were utilized as sources of profit for the top rankers.
Besides AI-related stocks, newly listed stocks in May, HD Hyundai Marine Solutions and No Brand, brought investment profits to 151 and 117 top rankers, respectively.
With the end of the competition, the top 200 domestic participants per tournament and the top 100 overseas participants per tournament qualified for the Hero Finals across five tournaments categorized by asset size, from 100 million to 10 billion. The top 10 prize winners for each tournament will be finalized about a month later after verification by Kiwoom Securities and the Korea Exchange.
The Kiwoom Hero Battle is currently holding the June regular season, and participants can check real-time (every 3 minutes) viewed stocks by top rankers, as well as stocks with high buying and selling volumes on the day. Various contents that help with investment will continue to be added to the Kiwoom Hero Battle service in the future.
