Expected Impact of Idol Fandom on Store Traffic
Emart24 announced on the 11th that it will exclusively sell the first full-length album of the girl group STAYC, ‘Metamorphic’ in the industry.
Customers who wish to purchase the album can visit Emart24 stores nationwide, make a payment, and leave the delivery address to receive the product sequentially starting from July 1. All customers who purchase the album through Emart24’s pre-order will additionally receive one exclusive STAYC photo card (randomly selected from 6 types).
Discount benefits are also provided. When paying with Hyundai Card, customers can receive a 10% discount. The STAYC full-length album sold by Emart24 comes in two types: ‘Standard’ and ‘Platform’. The Platform version includes a CD, mini card, photo card, and stickers, while the Standard version adds a booklet, postcards, room card, and scent paper.
Emart24 expects to attract idol fandoms to convenience store locations, as the main customer base of convenience stores overlaps significantly with K-pop idol fans. This full-length album is STAYC’s first since their debut 3 and a half years ago, and it is expected to receive great response from customers.
STAYC is a six-member girl group consisting of Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J. Having consecutively hit songs like ‘Teddy Bear’ and ‘Bubble,’ STAYC recently successfully completed their first world tour, gaining high interest not only in Asia but also in North America and Europe.
Kim Sanghyun, head of the Emart24 Service Platform Team, said, “As offline music album sales outlets are gradually decreasing, convenience stores nationwide can take on that role,” and added, “We will continue to transform Emart24 into a music album sales platform through various album sales.”
