Eunpyeong-gu, Recruitment of New Female Civil Defense Corps Members

Recruiting Pure Volunteer Group Protecting Eunpyeong-gu Residents' Safety Until the 14th

Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it is recruiting new members for the Women’s Civil Defense Corps, a pure volunteer organization, until the 14th to create a safer neighborhood in Eunpyeong.

The ‘Eunpyeong-gu Women’s Civil Defense Corps’ is a pure volunteer organization and a support civil defense unit mainly composed of female residents who love Eunpyeong-gu.

The recruitment target is women residing in the area who can actively volunteer for security and safety and participate in civil defense shelters and various safety patrol activities.

The Women’s Civil Defense Corps performs various tasks including ▲ civil defense-related activities and inspection of civil defense shelters and emergency supply boxes ▲ prevention of safety accidents during thawing and heatwave periods ▲ member duty training including emergency first aid such as CPR in emergencies ▲ participation in Eulji exercises and Korea Disaster Safety Training.

Women who wish to become new members can submit an application form to their local community service center or the Safety Management Division of Eunpyeong-gu Office.

In particular, on the 3rd, they cleaned the surrounding environment of three local memorial facilities (Memorial for National Defense Heroes, William Hamilton Shaw Statue, and Memorial for Teacher Yoon Ki-seop) and paid tribute to the patriotic martyrs and national defense spirits.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “The Women’s Civil Defense Corps members who always actively work for the safety of Eunpyeong-gu are a great strength,” and added, “The Women’s Civil Defense Corps is a pride of Eunpyeong-gu.”
