Located Between Cheonho Rodeo Street and Jjukkumi Alley... Noted for Its Sophisticated Design
Expected to Become a Popular Spot for Small Social Gatherings Like Art Exhibitions and Birthday Parties
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 11th that the Cheonho Underground Passage Culture Gallery has completed its renovation and will begin full-scale operation.
The culture gallery is located between Cheonho Rodeo Street and Seongnae Jjukkumi Alley, and it is easily accessible as it connects not only to the Cheonho underground parking lot but also to Bissal Park at Hills Avenue Cheonho Station.
The space is mainly composed of the ‘Street Gallery,’ an exhibition area of about 30㎡ (approximately 9 pyeong), and the ‘Small Gallery,’ which can be used as a meeting place. In particular, the exhibition space is designed with a modern sensibility combined with warmth, creating a clean yet sophisticated atmosphere. Additionally, the entrance is decorated with marble similar to that of Bissal Park to harmonize with the park, and floor lighting will be used to display guide signs.
Furthermore, the ‘Small Gallery’ is expected to attract attention as it can accommodate small gatherings. The district plans to prioritize free space rental for youth, adolescents, residents, and club activities.
The newly established underground passage culture gallery is expected to become a healing space where people can enjoy leisure activities on Cheonho Rodeo Street and Seongnae Jjukkumi Alley and naturally experience culture and arts while walking.
Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, “The underground passage culture gallery will be primarily provided as a cultural, artistic, and community space where young people can stay,” adding, “We will do our best to operate it as a cultural and artistic hub for the local community and a new source of vitality for nearby businesses, serving as a forward base for revitalizing the local economy.”
