Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Holds ESG Plogging Volunteer Event "Starting With Myself"

Eco-Friendly Practices in Celebration of Environment Day

Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) announced on the 10th that it held an ESG plogging volunteer activity to mark World Environment Day on the 5th.

Plogging is a combination of the Swedish word "Plocka Upp," meaning "to pick up," and the English word "jogging," referring to the activity of picking up litter while jogging. Recently, this campaign has been led by the younger generation as a way to promote both health and environmental protection.

This volunteer activity was conducted in collaboration with the Busanjingu Volunteer Center (Director Kim Hyangmi), with about 50 members from the Department of Medical Skin Care and the Department of Smart Wellness Medical Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology participating. For two hours, they picked up trash in the Jeonpo-dong area.

Lee Jiwon, a sophomore in the Department of Medical Skin Care and the leader of the volunteer group, shared, "It was a meaningful time that made me resolve to develop the habit of not littering and picking up trash to help protect a clean and beautiful global environment, starting with myself."

Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is actively practicing ESG management to promote the spread of a sustainable eco-friendly culture, as demonstrated by President Kim Youngdo's participation in the "Bye Bye Plastic Challenge" in May.
