Uiryeong County in Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it held the '2024 Second Quarter Industrial Safety and Health Committee' at the county office's Disaster Safety Situation Room to ensure a safe working environment for county workers and to manage the prevention of industrial accidents within the region.
The Industrial Safety and Health Committee is an organization in which representatives from both the employer and employee sides deliberate and make decisions on matters related to safety and health for the prevention of industrial accidents in the workplace. Regular meetings are held every quarter.
At the meeting, discussions began with a report on key actions from the first quarter, followed by deliberations on conducting a risk assessment in 2024 and consulting private workplaces for the prevention of serious accidents. The committee also took time to listen to the opinions of each worker.
Chairman Oh Taewan, the governor of Uiryeong County, said, "Serious accidents can be prevented when everyone fulfills their duties and responsibilities in their respective positions," and added, "Through regular meetings of the Industrial Safety and Health Committee, we will thoroughly listen to workers' opinions to prevent industrial accidents and safety incidents. I also urge all workers to remain vigilant about safety and strictly comply with safety and health regulations."
