Incheon City announced on the 10th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's emergency care public project, allowing anyone to use emergency care services regardless of income starting this month.
If you apply for the service at the administrative welfare center of your resident registration address or the Incheon Social Service Center, your eligibility will be quickly verified, and you will be provided with up to 30 days (72 hours) of home visit care, housekeeping, and mobility support services.
Emergency care services can be used if it is difficult to perform daily activities alone due to illness or injury, if there is no family to care due to the death or long-term absence of the primary caregiver, or if there is a care gap after applying for services such as long-term care for the elderly until the recipient is determined.
Services can be used if the requirements are met regardless of income level, but depending on income, the user must bear part or all of the service cost. Basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income brackets are exempt, those with income up to 120% of the median income pay 10%, 120-160% pay 20%, and those exceeding 160% pay 100% of the cost themselves.

The service can be used by selecting the desired time within a maximum period of 30 days. Professional personnel such as care workers visit the user's home to provide care and housekeeping support or offer outing support services for daily activities such as shopping and bank visits.
If the need for emergency care is confirmed through hospital discharge support offices, recommendations from military/district offices, discharge confirmation documents, etc., the service can be used without separate on-site verification. If confirmation is difficult with existing documents, on-site verification by the administrative welfare center or service providers will be conducted to support the service.
For more details, you can inquire through the Social Service Center (1522-0365), Ministry of Health and Welfare (129), or administrative welfare centers.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We hope that the newly launched emergency care support project will help alleviate the anxiety caused by unexpected care gaps and reduce the care burden on citizens."
