Eunpyeong-gu Opens 4 Water Playgrounds

Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will operate water playgrounds free of charge for all residents starting from the 29th to welcome the summer season.

The Eunpyeong-gu water playgrounds are located at Maebawi Children's Park, Daejo Children's Park, Eunpyeong Peace Park, and Gusan-dong Village Park, totaling four locations. Due to the expected early heat this summer, they will open earlier than usual.

They will be open every Saturday and Sunday for 31 days from the 29th until August 18th. However, during the elementary school vacation period from July 27th to August 18th, they will operate daily.

The operating hours are from noon to 5 p.m., with water play sessions lasting 50 minutes starting on the hour, followed by a 10-minute break. The facilities will be closed every Monday for inspection and cleaning, and operation will be flexible depending on weather conditions such as rain and on-site circumstances.

The main users are children aged 13 and under, and for safety reasons, children aged 7 and under must be accompanied by a guardian to enter.

Eunpyeong-gu will ensure residents can enjoy safe water play by changing the water daily, conducting water quality tests at least once every two weeks, and assigning two safety personnel who have completed professional training at all times.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “I hope everyone enjoys the summer heat excitingly at the Eunpyeong-gu water playgrounds,” and added, “We will do our best to maintain hygiene and prevent safety accidents.”
