Gwanak-gu, Recruiting Companies to Participate in CES 2025

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting companies to participate in the '2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025)' following 2024, to support venture and startup companies with innovative technologies in their overseas expansion and to promote startup culture.

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held from January 7 to 10, 2025, in Las Vegas, USA, is one of the world's top three electronics and information and communication technology (ICT) exhibitions hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). It provides a great opportunity for venture and startup companies to showcase their products and technological capabilities.

At CES 2024, the district was the only local government to establish the 'Gwanak S Valley Pavilion' and operated booths for eight companies based in Gwanak-gu.

In particular, 'Idea Ocean' and 'Solive Ventures,' resident companies of Gwanak S Valley, received the 'CES 2024 Innovation Award,' giving them the opportunity to promote the excellence of their products worldwide. The CES Innovation Award is given to leading innovative technologies and products globally and is also known as the 'highest honor at CES.'

Additionally, participating companies have shown rapid growth after CES 2024, including ▲technology demonstrations worth 1.2 billion KRW with large corporations ▲domestic and international investment attraction worth 3.1 billion KRW ▲export contract signings.

The district will again establish the 'Gwanak S Valley Pavilion' at CES 2025 next year and launch an all-out effort to support venture and startup companies in Gwanak S Valley.

The exhibition space will be expanded from eight booths last year to ten booths in 2025, providing more companies with the opportunity to participate.

Selected companies in this recruitment will receive support such as ▲exhibition booths ▲CES Innovation Award consulting ▲innovation award application ▲business matching and exhibition marketing training ▲one-on-one local interpretation.

Eligible participants are companies headquartered, with branches, or research centers located in Gwanak-gu, established within seven years (within ten years for new industry startups), and possessing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, bio, healthcare, etc. Companies planning to relocate to Gwanak-gu by October this year are also eligible to apply.

Companies wishing to participate should submit application documents via email by June 17, and more detailed information can be found in the announcement on the Gwanak-gu Office website.

The district will evaluate company capabilities and product competencies to select a total of 20 companies (10 selected and 10 preliminary candidates) by the end of June through the first selection evaluation, and finalize 10 companies for exhibition participation in November.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “Participating in CES alone can be a great opportunity for companies to promote their products and attract investment for growth,” adding, “We will continue to actively support the overseas market expansion and stable growth of excellent companies residing in Gwanak S Valley.”
