At around 1:36 AM on the 9th, an accident occurred at the Yeonsinnae electrical room on Subway Line 3, where three electrical workers from Seoul Metro were attaching cable identification stickers inside a distribution panel and came into contact with a live part, resulting in the electrocution and death of Mr. Lee (53).


Immediately after the accident in the early morning, the company officials called 119, conducted a 119 video call, and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation before transporting the worker to Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital in Yeonsinnae, but he was pronounced dead around 2:40 AM.


A safety investigation official from the company arrived at the scene around 3:40 AM, conducted an accident investigation, and immediately established an on-site accident response headquarters, making every effort to determine the cause of the accident.


A company representative stated, “The company expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family regarding this accident and plans to provide follow-up support with the highest respect.” They also added, “We will do our utmost to promptly identify the cause of this accident and establish thorough measures to prevent recurrence.”
