Compared to typical search engines, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered engines require more than 10 times the power. This is why global data center power demand is projected to reach approximately 1000 terawatt-hours (TWh) within two years due to the increasing AI demand.
Introducing the T10 PowerTrench MOSFET product line and EliteSiC 650V MOSFET solution into data centers can improve power efficiency. Deploying these solutions worldwide in data centers could reduce energy consumption by 10 TWh annually, which is enough to supply power to about one million households per year.
The EliteSiC 650V MOSFET supports higher efficiency in data centers and energy storage systems, while reducing overall system costs. The T10 PowerTrench MOSFET product line handles the high current essential for DC-DC power conversion stages. It also meets the standards required for automotive applications.
Simon Kitten, President of Onsemi Power Solutions Group, stated, "AI and electrification are rapidly increasing power demand as they reshape our world," adding, "To realize these technological megatrends, accelerating innovation in power semiconductors to improve energy efficiency is key." He continued, "Onsemi's latest solutions will have a meaningful impact on next-generation data center demands."
