Expansion to All 591 Nationwide Group Company Branches from All Shinhan Bank Branches in Seoul
Shinhan Financial Group announced on the 9th that it will operate its group company branches as 'Heatwave Shelters' during the summer heatwave period to minimize heat-related damage to citizens and protect energy-vulnerable groups.
Through an agreement between Seoul City and Shinhan Bank conducted last month, all 197 Shinhan Bank branches in Seoul are being operated as Climate Companion Shelters. Starting from the 10th, Shinhan Financial Group will independently expand the 'Heatwave Shelter' program to 591 group branches nationwide, including bank branches.
All customers can comfortably rest at any Shinhan Financial Group branch designated as a 'Heatwave Shelter' during business hours from Monday to Friday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) this summer.
In addition to the Heatwave Shelters, the group continues projects to support energy-vulnerable groups, such as replacing outdated heating and cooling equipment with high-efficiency devices at 237 local children's centers nationwide and providing heating and cooling expenses to 363 group homes (child communal living homes) across the country.
A Shinhan Financial Group official stated, “We will further open our branches as comfortable resting places to help everyone safely get through the summer heatwave. Shinhan Financial Group will continue to actively participate in supporting energy-vulnerable groups through various methods.”
