A man in his 40s was arrested by the police for stabbing an acquaintance with a weapon over rumors that the acquaintance had spoken ill of him.
The Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced on the 7th that they have booked a man in his 40s, Mr. A, on charges of attempted murder for wielding a weapon against an acquaintance.
Mr. A is accused of stabbing his acquaintance, Mr. B, also in his 40s, with a weapon at a restaurant in Bangnim-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, around midnight that day.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A carried out the attack after hearing that Mr. B had been speaking ill of him.
Mr. B, who was seriously injured by the weapon, is currently receiving hospital treatment.
The police urgently arrested Mr. A, who was also injured while wielding the weapon and has undergone surgery. They believe he intended to kill the other party and are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
