Mayor Lee: "I hope this serves as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between friendly cities and promote a culture of voluntary donations"
Pohang Mayor Lee Kangdeok participated in the Hometown Love Donation Certification Challenge on the 7th after being nominated by Odoh Chang, Mayor of Yeongyang County.
Kangdeok Lee, Mayor of Pohang, participated in the hometown love donation certification challenge on the 7th.
During the challenge, Mayor Lee certified his donation to Yongin Special City, a sister city, and nominated Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin Special City, as the next participant.
The Hometown Love Donation Certification Challenge is a donation relay campaign in which the nominated donor recommends the next participant. It was initiated by National Assembly member Han Byungdo, who was the main sponsor of the "Hometown Love Donation Act," to promote a culture of voluntary giving.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok said, "I am very pleased to participate in the Hometown Love Donation Program, which aims to expand local finances and revitalize the regional economy. I hope this certification challenge will strengthen exchanges and cooperation between sister cities and serve as an opportunity for mutual development. I also wish that the relay of donation activities will spread the culture of giving and encourage more people to join the Hometown Love Donation Program."
Last May, Pohang City signed a sister city exchange agreement with Yongin Special City and pledged to actively cooperate for continuous mutual exchange and development in fields such as future high-tech industries, administration, and tourism.
