Daejeon City Councilor Min Kyung-bae Proposes Ordinance to Increase Korean War Veteran Honorary Allowance by 20,000 Won Min Kyung-bae, Welfare and Environment Committee Member of Daejeon City Council / Daejeon City Council

Min Kyung-bae, a member of the Welfare and Environment Committee of the Daejeon City Council (People Power Party, Jung-gu 3), announced on the 7th that he has taken the lead in proposing the 'Partial Amendment to the Daejeon City Support Ordinance for Veterans'.


The ordinance includes a provision to raise the veterans' honorary allowance from the current 100,000 KRW per month to 120,000 KRW per month, an increase of 20,000 KRW, in order to honor the veterans and improve their welfare.


Assemblyman Min Kyung-bae said, "By eliminating the disparities in veterans' honorary allowances that vary by local government and leveling them up, we expect to convey greater respect and courtesy to the veterans residing in our city."


If the ordinance passes the review by the Welfare and Environment Committee at the 278th 1st regular session, it will be finally approved at the plenary session.
