Construction of 1,381 Apartment Units in Low-Rise Residential Area, Myeonmokbon-dong, Jungnang-gu

Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is accelerating the development of low-rise residential areas.

Last month, the district passed the integrated review of the Moa Town management plan change (draft) for the area around 297-28, Myeonmokbon-dong at the ‘7th Small-scale Housing Maintenance Integrated Review Subcommittee of 2024,’ and it is expected that the ongoing Moa Town project will gain further momentum.

The approved Moa Town management plan (draft) includes ▲upgrading the land use zone (from Type 2, up to 7 floors → Type 3 general residential area) ▲improvement plans for maintenance infrastructure (road widening, new park establishment), among others.

The area around 297-28, Myeonmokbon-dong is planned to be developed into a Moa Town where five Moa houses gather, expected to supply 1,381 households.

In particular, a broad plan to improve traffic conditions and pedestrian environments is included by linking with adjacent Moa Town and Rapid Integrated Planning maintenance district plans. The district plans to widen the roads of Gyeomjae-ro 54-gil, Sangbong-ro 1-gil, and Myeonmok-ro 66-gil, and establish connections with external arterial roads such as Yongmasan-ro and Gyeomjae-ro.

Additionally, a new park (843.5㎡) will be created to expand spaces for residents’ rest and leisure. Furthermore, major roads closely related to residents’ daily lives, such as Gyeomjae-ro 54-gil and Myeonmok-ro 66-gil, will be designated as street activation facility sections to allow placement of lifestyle service facilities like libraries, aiming to provide a pleasant residential environment.

District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “The day when the Myeonmokbon-dong area will be reborn as a premium residential complex is drawing closer,” and added, “We will continue to faithfully carry out ongoing projects to create a residential environment where residents can live comfortably and safely.”

Meanwhile, the total number of housing development project sites currently underway in Jungnang-gu, including Moa Town, is 26. This ranks first among Seoul’s autonomous districts, and the district is focusing on housing development projects with the goal of supplying 15,200 new apartments by 2026.
