Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk to Provide 25.66 Million Won in Compensation for Residents Affected by Military Noise

Compensation Applications for This Year Scheduled for January to February Next Year

Yeongcheon City, North Gyeongsang Province, will provide compensation totaling 25,662,000 KRW to 112 applicants who are eligible for compensation due to military noise damage.

The compensation for military noise damage is determined by the Regional Noise Countermeasure Review Committee in accordance with the "Act on the Prevention of Noise from Military Airfields and Shooting Ranges and Compensation for Damages," which decides both the recipients and the amount of compensation.

The city will individually notify recipients of the calculated compensation amount via decision notices. If there are any objections to the compensation decision, applicants may submit an objection form and supporting documents to the Environmental Protection Division at Yeongcheon City Hall or to their local administrative welfare center by July.

The compensation period covers from November 27, 2020, to December 31, 2023. Compensation for noise damage is processed annually, and applications for this year's compensation will be accepted in January and February of next year.
