Korea's Largest Advertising Contest with 20 Years of History
The student teams from the Department of Advertising and Public Relations and the Department of Media and Film at Daegu Catholic University participated in the '2024 Korea Student Advertising Competition (KOSAC)', the largest advertising contest in Korea, and won multiple awards including the Excellence Award, Honorable Mention, and Challenger Award in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.

The Korea Student Advertising Competition, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Federation of Advertising Associations, is the largest advertising contest in Korea with a 20-year history.
This year’s competition, held on the 30th of last month, featured 154 universities nationwide. In the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, 11 teams participated, with 5,924 students and 437 faculty advisors submitting 1,546 works for the regional preliminaries.
In this competition, the team 'Kkokkio Trio', consisting of Park Seoyeon and Lee Yeonwoo (Advertising and Public Relations) and Kim Yebon (Media and Film), presented a campaign plan to promote early education for drug prevention and received high praise, earning the Excellence Award.
Judge A, who evaluated the regional competition, said, "The Kkokkio Trio team demonstrated a high level of completion and problem-solving skills," adding, "Their presentation structure and delivery were especially impressive, making it hard to believe the team is only composed of second-year students."
Professor Min Byungwoon of the School of Media, Film, Advertising and Public Relations said, "Our university students have a very high basic aptitude, and with their hard work added, I believe this led to such good results."
The Kkokkio Trio team, which won the Excellence Award in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk regional competition, will participate in the national finals on June 28, where 12 teams selected from across the country will compete.
