Product Planning and Sales at LG HelloVision Open Studio
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan), Department of Media and Communication (Head Na Junki), held a Do-ing (Challenge, Experience, Practice) learning session on June 3, focusing on the field-oriented practical talent development course, "Live Commerce Live Broadcast Production and Transmission."
The "Live Broadcast Production" course is designed to provide specialized education related to live broadcasting and live commerce.
In this course, students take on all staff roles themselves, including product planning, composition, promotional video production, show hosting, camera operation, control room, and directing. They develop practical expertise by broadcasting live on the live commerce online platform (Grip) at the LG HelloVision Open Studio site.
On this day, the live commerce session featured products from local small businesses (Ongol Hot Pack, Changwon Dangam Nuts, Red Ginseng Yanggaeng), which were sourced, produced, and broadcast live.
Kwak Seohyun, a fourth-year student who participated as a show host, shared, "I felt the tension of real-time broadcasting. It was a valuable experience to develop the ability to handle urgent situations during the broadcast without panicking."
Jung Guyoung, the PD in charge of the LG HelloVision Open Studio, also commented, "It is rewarding to see that the production and broadcasting activities between local universities and regional broadcasting stations provide students with valuable hands-on experiences."
Professor Jung Miyoung, the supervising professor, stated, "Since the founding of JM (JMedia) in 2023, we have enabled students to link their coursework using the live commerce online platform (Grip) we are building." She added, "By sourcing and selling local small business products, providing marketing support, and engaging in live commerce, we will help students further grow as professional media content creators."
Students from the Department of Media Communication at Dongmyung University conducted a field study on live commerce broadcasting.
