Gwangju University and E-Land Park (CEO Lee Ji-woon) signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement on May 31 at the Kensington Hotel Yeouido in Seoul to promote technology exchange in the hotel sector and nurture service industry professionals.
Through this agreement, Gwangju University students will be offered opportunities such as industrial site visits, employment-linked field training, and internships. Both parties also agreed to collaborate actively on industry-academic programs, including joint research in the hospitality field.
Professor Kim Mi-jung of Gwangju University's Department of Aviation Service said, "This agreement will provide students with broad opportunities for hands-on experience and greatly assist them in career planning." She added, "We will continue to establish cooperative systems not only with the aviation sector but also with numerous hotel and tourism industry organizations to expand practical training and employment opportunities for our students."
E-Land Park currently operates 22 hotels and resorts domestically and internationally, with a total of over 5,000 rooms. Through this agreement, nine students from Gwangju University's Department of Aviation Service plan to undertake summer field training at Kensington Resort Seogwipo, Kent Hotel Gwangalli by Kensington, and Kensington Hotel Pyeongchang, respectively.
