Five-Agency Working Group 'Cheongnyeom Wave' Collaborates on Sharing Ethical Management Programs
Busan Port Authority (BPA) signed a business agreement for "the practice of integrity and ethical management and the creation of a regional ethical culture" on the 47th floor conference room of the Busan International Finance Center (BIFC) on the 3rd, together with five Busan-based public institutions: Busan Port Authority, Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, Korea Southern Power, Korea Fisheries Resources Agency, and Korea Asset Management Corporation.
This agreement was established to expand cooperation for strengthening integrity and ethical management and fostering a regional ethical culture, based on "Cheongnyeom Wave," an ethical management working group of the five Busan-area public institutions.
Cheongnyeom Wave, meaning "creating a wave of integrity," was launched in August last year with the aim of sharing ethical and human rights management information and best practices among Busan-based public institutions, and spreading a culture of integrity and ethics within the local community.
The signing ceremony was attended by BPA President Kang Junseok, Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation President Yoo Byungtae, Korea Southern Power President Lee Seungwoo, Korea Fisheries Resources Agency Chairman Lee Chunwoo, Korea Asset Management Corporation President Kwon Namjoo, and other related officials.
According to the agreement, the five institutions will mutually cooperate on ▲the practice and observance of integrity and ethical management ▲sharing best practices and integrity and ethics programs for improving corruption-prone areas ▲creating a regional ethical culture, among other initiatives.
BPA President Kang Junseok stated, "I hope this agreement will serve as a cornerstone for all public institution employees, including those at Busan Port Authority, to work together to build a transparent organizational culture and further spread a culture of integrity and ethics throughout Busan," adding, "Each institution will make integrity its top priority and strive to make integrity and ethics a competitive advantage for their organizations."
