Department of Dental Hygiene at Silla University, Graduate Students Win Five Awards at the Korean Academy of Oral Health Science Conference

Five Teams Win Awards from Grand Prize to Encouragement Award

The Department of Dental Hygiene at Silla University (President: Heo Namsik) achieved remarkable success as all five teams of graduate students who participated in the '2024 Korean Society of Oral Health Science Spring Conference' received awards.

The five teams of graduate students from the Silla University Department of Dental Hygiene participated in the academic conference held on the 25th of last month, under the themes 'The Present and Future of Oral Health Programs for the Elderly' and 'The Role of Clinical Dental Hygienists in a Super-Aged Society', achieving these results.

Graduate students Park Sinhong and Jung Jihae presented a poster titled 'The Effect of Positive Psychological Capital of Dental Hygienists on Job Embeddedness, Self-Leadership, and Organizational Commitment', winning the grand prize.

The team of graduate students Jang Eunjin, Jeon Jiyeong, and Jung Yujin, who presented a poster on 'The Relationship Between Dental Hygienists' Knowledge of Systemic Diseases, Clinical Experience, and Educational Characteristics', and the team of Park Mijeong, Kang Dain, and Lee Eunbi, who presented a poster on 'The Effect of Dental Hygienists' Problem-Solving Ability on the Capacity and Necessity of Health Promotion Activities for the Elderly', were awarded the excellence prize.

Additionally, the team of graduate students Jang Jiun and Kim Donghyeon won the encouragement prize for their poster on 'The Relationship Between Dental Hygienists' Job Satisfaction and Anxiety According to Clinical Practice Experience During Student Years', and the team of Lee Sujin, Park Hyoeun, and Han Sugyeong received the encouragement prize for their poster on 'The Relationship Between Job Satisfaction, Occupational Attractiveness, and Turnover Intention of Orthodontic Dental Hygienists', resulting in all participating teams receiving awards and earning the honor of winning in five categories.

Grand prize winners Park Sinhong and Jung Jihae stated, "With the advice and guidance of our supervising professor, we prepared the poster and practiced the presentation, which greatly motivated us to review and further develop our studies in the field of dental hygiene," and added, "We hope to contribute to providing foundational data for enhancing the role of clinical dental hygienists through dedicated research."

Kang Hyunkyung, head professor of the Department of Dental Hygiene at the Silla University Graduate School, said, "I am delighted that our master's and doctoral students received multiple awards at this spring conference," and added, "We will continue to devote ourselves to in-depth research and the cultivation of convergent talent in the field of dental hygiene through our graduate programs."
